Ladies Me-Treat Adventures: Our First Weekend of Connection, Relaxation, and Rejuvenation
Together with our sister brand, NamaStay Adventures, we just hosted our very first Ladies Me-Treat Adventure, and it was everything we hoped it would be and more.
So, what exactly is a Me-Treat?
A Me-Treat is more than just a girls' getaway. It's a retreat designed for women who spend so much of their lives taking care of everyone else that they often forget to take care of themselves. As mothers, wives, daughters, friends, colleagues, and caregivers, we are constantly showing up for others. Yet the truth is, we cannot pour from an empty cup.
Years ago, a mentor and dear friend shared something with me that has stayed in my heart ever since:
"When you're on an airplane, you put your oxygen mask on first before helping others."
Life should be no different.
Taking care of yourself isn't selfish. It's essential. When we make time to rest, recharge, laugh, and reconnect with ourselves, we return home better equipped to love and serve the people who matter most. That's exactly why Me-Treat Adventures were created.
Our First Me-Treat Destination: Black Desert Resort

For our inaugural weekend, I chose the breathtaking Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, just outside of St. George. Nestled among dramatic red rock landscapes and surrounded by some of Southern Utah's most beautiful scenery, the resort offers the perfect combination of luxury, relaxation, and adventure.
Its location makes it easy to explore nearby treasures such as Zion National Park, Snow Canyon State Park, Sand Hollow State Park, and Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this area truly has something for everyone.
Friday Evening: Arrive, Relax, and Indulge
Our sweet little weekend began on Friday evening. After checking into the gorgeous resort, we gathered for dinner at 20th Hole, one of Black Desert's casual and lively restaurants.
From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for a treat. Between the laughter, stories, and delicious food, it was the perfect way to kick off our weekend. And I have to mention the Sticky Chicken Fingers. They were absolutely worth the hype and quickly became a group favorite!
Saturday: Adventure, Sunshine, and Self-Care
Saturday morning began with breakfast and coffee before heading out for one of my favorite places in Southern Utah, Snow Canyon State Park.
One of the highlights was visiting Jenny's Canyon, a short and easy hike that rewards you with stunning scenery and beautiful photo opportunities. Surrounded by towering red rock formations, we couldn't help but stop, take it all in, and capture memories together.
Originally, we planned to have lunch elsewhere, but after spending the morning exploring, we realized we simply didn't want to leave the resort. The atmosphere was too inviting.
Instead, we headed back to Black Desert, settled into lounge chairs by the pool, and enjoyed lunch while soaking up the warm Southern Utah sunshine.
Some of the ladies treated themselves to spa treatments and came back glowing and raving about the experience. Others simply relaxed poolside, read books, enjoyed great conversations, and embraced the rare gift of uninterrupted downtime.
Sometimes doing "nothing" is exactly what the soul needs.
An Unforgettable Evening at Basalt
Saturday evening, we gathered for dinner at Basalt, Black Desert's stunning signature steakhouse.
Not only was the food exceptional, but the views were equally impressive. Overlooking the spectacular PGA golf course and surrounded by the iconic black lava rock landscape, it provided the perfect setting for another evening filled with laughter and meaningful conversations.
Every dining experience throughout the weekend exceeded our expectations, and Basalt quickly became one of my favorite steakhouses in Utah.
Ending the Night with Mahjong and Lots of Laughs
No girls' weekend would be complete without a little fun.
After dinner, one of our sweet friends graciously introduced us to Mahjong. With incredible patience and plenty of humor, she guided a group of complete beginners through the game. There were lots of questions, plenty of mistakes, and even more laughter.
By the end of the night, we had discovered a new hobby and created memories we will laugh about for years to come.
More Than a Weekend Away
As incredible as the scenery and accommodations were, what made this Me-Treat truly special were the women.
Over the course of just a few days, strangers became friends, friendships deepened, and conversations turned into what we lovingly referred to as "free therapy sessions." We encouraged one another, shared stories, laughed until our cheeks hurt, and gave ourselves permission to simply be.
We returned home feeling refreshed, inspired, and recharged. More importantly, we returned home ready to be the best versions of ourselves for the people we love.
Because sometimes, the greatest gift we can give others is taking the time to take care of ourselves first.
