Inside Aspen's Newest Luxury Hotel: White Elephant Aspen

Aspen just welcomed an exciting new luxury hotel, and it's one we're already adding to our list of favorite mountain stays. White Elephant Aspen marks the beloved brand's first-ever mountain property, bringing the same thoughtful hospitality guests have come to love in Nantucket and Palm Beach to the heart of the Rockies. Tucked into Aspen's charming West End neighborhood, the boutique hotel features 54 beautifully designed rooms and suites just a short walk from downtown.

At Compelled to Travel, we've long loved the White Elephant collection. Their properties have a way of feeling both elevated and approachable, with exceptional service that never feels stuffy. Each hotel embraces its destination while maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back year after year.

White Elephant Aspen feels more like a stylish mountain retreat than a traditional hotel. The design blends modern alpine touches with over 125 pieces of original artwork, creating spaces that are both sophisticated and comfortable. Guests can enjoy a heated outdoor pool, hot tubs, complimentary bicycles, ski valet services, and Lola 41, the brand's signature restaurant known for its fresh sushi, seafood, and globally inspired menu.

White Elephant Aspen’s new lobby

For skiers, White Elephant Aspen makes getting on the mountain effortless. Complimentary shuttles run to Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk, while ski valet services take the hassle out of managing your gear. It's exactly the kind of thoughtful detail we love to see in a luxury ski hotel.

And now for one of our favorite touches... White Elephant Aspen is incredibly dog-friendly. In true White Elephant fashion, dogs are honored guests with plush dog beds, ceramic bowls, gourmet local treats, and even doggie turndown service. The hotel's pet concierge can also recommend dog-friendly hiking trails and restaurant patios, or arrange dog walking and pet sitting while you're out exploring. After all, it's their vacation too.

Whether you're visiting for powder days in winter or hiking, festivals, and sunny mountain afternoons in summer, White Elephant Aspen is a beautiful new addition to Aspen's luxury hotel scene—and one we think deserves a spot on your travel wishlist.

We'd love to help you experience White Elephant Aspen and all that this iconic mountain destination has to offer. Connect with our team of travel advisors HERE.
